6 slices 4 x2 = 8 and 3 x 2 = 6 so its 6 over and that is 6/8 of the pie

He ate 6 slices. Think like a traditional pizza slice. It's usually cut in eighths. Divide by 2 to get 4/4. 2 slices is one fourth. 2,4,6.
