Stalin pushed Roosevelt and Churchill to open a second front in France to relieve the pressure applied by the German forces on the Soviet Union. Large percentage of German troops and military strength was focused on the Soviet Union and Stalin wanted to reduce the number of German troops by pushing the US and Great Britain to open a second front in France.
