posterior pituitary hormones and include
oxytocin and antidiuretic hormone. Nonetheless, these
hormones are synthesized by the
hypothalamus. The anterior pituitary receives signaling
molecules from the hypothalamus, and in response, synthesizes and secretes hormones
such as the thyroid-stimulating hormone
and growth hormone.
