Processes such as tilting, folding, faulting, and intrusions of igneous rocks can distort the original strata. Tilted geologic layers were originally horizontal. Sediments will fill in uneven geologic layers. Igneous rocks can intrude or cut through pre existing sedimentary rock layers.
