The House of Wisdom was a library and learning center, established by the Abassid dynasty in Baghdad. Translations of ancient works (such as Plato and Aristotle) into Arabic happened there. Original scholarship was also pursued, in fields such as mathematics, physics, astronomy, and engineering.
