30x = 48 + 22x
30x - 22 x = 48
12x = 48
x = 48 /12
x = 4
With the kind of equations where you have the same kind of variables, the trick is to place all the variables on the same side of the equation, and the non variables on the other side. This makes it much easier to perform the calculation.
However other equations with two different kinds of variables in the same equation e.g. x and y will require a different approach.
