It's no secret that linguists and philologists have tried to create an artificial language that would be spoken all over the globe so as to erase the boundaries between nations. However, countries such as China, which have a lot of languages and dialects, present a severe problem to such a strategy because people would have to give up on their own mother tongues in order to learn a new one they don't really need.
