Giuseppe Mazzini was an Italian political activist and journalist living during the 19th century. He is well known for his attempts at Italian unification and revolution, part of which took place during his participation in the Young Italy Organization. Mazzini advocated for Italian unification instead of the established individual states claiming only this new state would embody true Italian freedom.
