Any radical of the form [tex] \sqrt[n]{x^m} [/tex] can be written as [tex] x^{m/n} [/tex].
Also, as long as everything is defined expressions of the form [tex] x^{m/n} [/tex] as [tex] \sqrt[n]{x^m} [/tex]. Note that the denominator of the exponent indicates the type of radical and the numerator of the exponent represents the power which can be applied either inside or outside of the radical.
