We need to just plug in n = 9 into the rule to find out the 9th term.

A(9)= -14+(9-1)(2)

Subtract 9-1
A(9) = -14+(8)(2)

Multiply 8*2
A(9) = -14+16

Add -14+16, which is the same as 16-14
A(9) = 2

The 9th term is 2.
