A fallacy of reasoning (also called an informal fallacy) is when an argument is not based on on hard data or mathematical formulas, but utilizes some informal logic. We can say that the argument is unsupported. It doesn't prove that the point someone is trying to make is false, but rather it doesn't prove sufficiently that is true.
