In this case, the disease of the patient is caused by a pathogen but no one taking care of him/her becomes ill. If this is an infectious disease the pathogen should be able to infect the others that were exposed to it. Since no one gets the disease besides the patient, it would be a noncommunicable disease. Is might be an opportunistic pathogen that only infects immunocompromised patient though.
