"The moon" is generally the term for Earth's moon, though most if not all of the planets in our solar system have their own moons as well.
The moon, as in Earth's moon, is located 238,900 miles away from planet earth, and is in constant orbit around the earth, very much like our satellites, because of gravity.
By orbit, I meant the moon makes circles around the earth. It completes an "orbit", or a complete circle, once every
27.32 days, roughly what we know as a "month".
~Hope this helps!
