delta y = (-6 - -2) = ( -6 + 2) = -4
delta x = ( -11 - -8) = (-11 + 8) = -3
slope is (delta y)/(delta x) = (-4/-3) = 4/3

[tex](-8,-2), \ \ (-11,-6) \\ \\First \ find \ the \ slope \ of \ the \ line \ thru \ the \ points \: \\ \\ m= \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1} } \\ \\m=\frac{-6-(-2)}{-11-(-8)} = \frac{-6+2}{-11+8} = \frac{-4}{-3} = \frac{4}{3}[/tex]
