the answer to this question is  the amplitude of action potentials 
 the amplitude of action potentials will determine how strong  our neuron will react to a certain stimulus.
Higher amplitude of actions neuron reaction tend to result in higher intensity of a sensory stimulus that could led to more drastic physical changes.
