1. x = cost of one adult ticket
y= cost of one child ticket

2x+3y=31.60
x+2y=18.60 l multiply by -2

2x+3y=31.60
-2x-6y=-37.2
-3y=-5.6
y=1.87

2x+3(1.87)=31.60
2x+5.6=31.60
2x=31.60-5.6
2x=26
x=26/2
x=13

Answer: The adult ticket is $13 and the child ticket is $1.87
