in the simulation, select the Argon/Argon option. Pull the unpinned aron a short distance away from the pinned atom, and release it. What happens to the atoms ?
the unpinned Argon atom will be pulled back towards the pinned atom due to the attractive forces, and they will settle into a vibrating equilibrium state next to each other.
