8*(x-6) = 4x
8x-48 = 4x
8x-4x-48+48=4x-4x+48
4x=48
x=12

It would be like this as an equation:

Here's the solution:


8(x-6)=4x

Multiply by 8 ---> 8x-48=4x

Get the variable on one side, so subtract 8x --> -48=4x-8x --> -48=-4x

Now divide by -4 to get x on its own -->  -48/-4=-4x/-4 --> 12 = x
