Atlantic cod is a special type of marine fish from the family Gadidae. It is a commercially important fish because it is consumed by humans. The Atlantic cod lives in the cold waters and in the deep seas throughout North Atlantic. The Pacific cod on the other side lives in the northern Pacific.
