why is 6 root 4 12? please explain im so confused.

when you multiply 6 by 2 you get 12, if you divide 12 by 2 you get 6

Um.....6 is the square root of 36 since 6 x 6 = 36. I'll give you an example. 49 what is the square root of 49? What times what gives you 49. 7 x 7 = 49. So the square root of 49 is 7. Another example. 81. What is the square root of 81? 9. Because 9 x 9 = 81. All of those are perfect squares. The numbers that are perfect squares have to have a number that can be multiplied my itself to get the number. 16 is a perfect square. Hope this helps! ^-^
