The perimeter of a rectangle is 142m. The length is 2m more than twice the width. Find the dimensions.

Equation:
(2w+2) + w + (2w+2) + w

Combine Like Terms:
6w+4=142 m (since that's our perimeter)

Subtract 4 from both sides:
6w=138

Divide 6 from both sides
w=23

To find the length... Plug in our width into our "length" equation
(2(23)+2)
46+2
l=48

Final Answer:
w=23
l=48
