The help shows us the inner working of a segregated society, that you should never judge another race before actually knowing them, because you don't know and probably don't understand the everyday struggles they have. I got this theme from the movie, its a good movie i love it
racism is the main theme in the book. In 1962 Mississippi there were no such things as slaves but the "help" were not far removed. African-Americans were still considered to be low class if they were considered to be a part of society at all.
