The most accurate technology used to make a five day forecast is a combination of weather balloons sent into the troposphere by the National Weather Service, and a large blend of global forecast models and their respective ensembles. After assessing the data from these sources, the meteorologists interpret the data with their own experience in different situations to tweak the data and produce a five day forecast.
