Write two ratios equal to each other :

12/5 = 8/x(second speed)

Cross multiply:

12x = 40

Divide both sides by 12:

X = 3.333 or 3 1/3 km/h

second speed = 3.33 ( as a decimal) or 3 1/3 ( as a fraction) km/h
