Loy had some bags of marbles. He kept 1/4 of the number of marbles for himself, gave 558 marbles to Tom and the remaining marbles 3/10 to Sean. If there were 40 marbles in each bag, how many bags of marbles did Loy have at first?

1/4x for himself

1/4x+3/10x=558

10x+12x all over 40 = 558

22x= 558 × 40

22x=22320

x=22320/22

=1014.55

1014.55/40

=25.36

=25 approximately
