y2-y1 / x2-x1 = gradient

Point 1 = (0,4)
Point 2 = (2,-2)

-2-4 / 2-0 = –6/2
-6/2 = –3

So -3 is the gradient (slope).

So the equation of the line would be y = –3x + 4, the first option.
