The Sun never comes directly above NW Arkansas or any other place in the United States. The tilt of the Earth's rotation axis is 23.5 degrees in relation to its orbital move. It means that the Sun may appear directly above our heads only once per year in places located up to 23.5 degrees north or south of the equator.
