The answer is: Conversion;Persecuting

In his earliest introduction to Christianity, he didn't believe in the religion and see Christians as those that have the tendency to undermine him as the highest authority in the empire. This made him start to persecuting Christians. The persecutions stopped until something happened in his life and he turned into a believer.
