Comparing equation y = 5x + 4 with y=mx+c we get m=5. Slope of equation y=5x+4 is 5. Since required line is parallel to y=5x+4, slope of required line = slope of y=5x+4 = 5. By slope point form, y-y1 = m(x-x1). y-0 = 5(x-(-1)). y=5x+5. The required equation parallel to y=5x+4 is y=5x + 5.
