Answer:

1. 2HCl + MgO —-> MgCl2 + H2O

Explanation: You add a 2 in front of the HCl in order to have 2 hydrogens on each side and 2 Cl on each side. Since, Magnesium only has one on each side, they’re already balanced. Same with Oxygen so you leave it alone.
