Refugees migrate primarily because of push factors associated with violence or major disasters such as famine or earthquakes in their home countries. These are the major factors that push refugees to migrate to other countries, however, there are other factors that push migrants more generally to other places such as the lack of work or economic turmoil in their home countries.
