If x+2y=12 and x-y=3 find the value of x+y

The answer would be 9

x-y=3
x=3+y

X+2y=12
(3+y) + 2y=12
3y+3=12
3y=9
Y=3

X-(3)=3
X=6

X+y
6+3=9
