Area = Base x height

Area = (2/5) x (3/8)

To to multiply fractions, just multiply the numerators with each other and the denominators with each other
2 x 3 = 6
5 x 8 = 40

The fraction comes to be 6/40

Simplify - divide each number by the GCF(2)
6/2=3
40/2=20

2/5*3/8
The numerator is:

6/40
This can be simplified by dividing both sides by 2:

Hope this helps :)
