step 1: plot your points.
step 2: find the rise over run
step 3: place the rise over run in decimal form. say its 5 to the side and 2 up 2/5 (if it was a negative rise such as 2 down it would be -2/5)
step 4= find where it crosses the y line such ex: 0,8 it would be 8 (if it were negative it would be 0,-8: -8)
then put in y intercept form: y=2/5x+8
