my math problem is this:
solve the following system of equations.
5x-4y=24
-2x+7y=12
I have tried and I can not figure it out. I have to try and find out what x&y are.​

x = 10

y = 4

5x-4y=24 ------>( 1 )

-2x+7y=12 ------>( 2 )

( 1 ) × 2

(2) × 5

10x - 8y - 10x + 35y = 48 + 60

27y = 108

y= 4

5x - 4× 4 = 24

5x - 16 = 24

x = 10
