What is (f+g)(x)?

(fg)(x) means multiply f(x) by g(x). Use the distributive law:

(fg)(x) = (x2+3x+2)(x+1) = x3 + 3x2 + 2x + x2 + 3x + 2 = x3 + 4x2 + 5x + 2
