  • All parts are the same throughout which implies that they are homogeneous.
  • They have a definite composition.
  • They  cannot be easily separated or broken down into simpler substances by physical means
  • Separation by physical means is not possible
  • They have unique sets of physical properties.

Heterogeneous mixtures have completely opposite properties as the pure substances as given above.
