Being able to express numbers in its equivalent forms allows you to give more accurate and correct answers. By using equivalents forms you may find a simply and easier way to solve the given equation.
For example, in fraction, by simply expressing equivalent fractions with common denominator, you can easily subtract and add the given numbers in an easy way. There are a lot of numbers that are equivalent, and there are a lot of way to solve a single problem to get a correct answer.
