The society's goal is to elect a party and its representative who will bring forth the well-being of the state. The candidate's goal is of course to acquire and stay in power for as long as possible according to political realism theoreticians. They can both be achieved and often do coincide as the candidate's usually say what they want people to hear based on the occurrences on the micro and macro political issues.
