If F(X)= 6X-4 and F(A)= 26 what is the value of a? Explain

Knowing that f(x)=6x-4 and f(x)=26 we can substitute fx as 26 and solve equation
26=6x-4      /+4    add 4 both sides
26+4=6x
30=6x        /:6      divide both sides by 6
30:6=x
6=x - its our result
