They were able to figure out how to craft tools for specific tasks and prolonged maturation periods were all thought to have evolved together at the start of the Homo lineage as African grasslands expanded and earths climate became more cooler and drier the unstable climate helped species coexist with eachother and adapt to the environment and helped create human flexibility
