So you do the equation
17+x+6=3x-5
23+5=2x
28=2x
28/2=14
X=14
You then plug it in 14+6 and 3(14)-5
You get 20 and 37
Length of ST=20+ the length of RS=17
So the length of RT=37 and 20+17=37
