A Look at the USS Indiana, the Navy's Newest Submarine. A bit of the Midwest is one step closer to heading out to sea. The newest Virginia-class submarine, to be branded the USS Indiana (SSN 789), was delivered to the US Navy this week after construction on it began back in 2012.
