To start off, you need to know that the formula for finding the area is (1/2)bh. In words, this means half of the base times the height.

So let’s work backwards...

Knowing that the area=22, we can substitute the variables in the formula.

A=1/2bh
22=(1/2)b(4)
44=4b
11=b

(b stands for base, and x is the base, so basically x=11)
