Out of the 15 cards numbered 1 through 15, there is only 1 card that has 5 written on it. The probability therefore of picking this card is 1/15. The same goes for the card numbered 9. We are asked to calculated the probability of picking a 5 OR a 9, therefore, we add their probabilities and arrive at the answer equal to 2/15.
