Vegetable oils are the trigylceride extracted from plants. They have been part of the human life for thousands of years already. The molecular structure of vegetable oil consists of glycerol and fatty acids. Glycerol has 3 carbon atoms and fatty acids are long chain of carbon atoms. Vegetable oil is nonpolar as it can also be dissolved in nonpolar compounds such as gasoline.
