h is the height .

Substituting into the formula , we have :

[tex]26 = \frac{1}{2}(5+8)h[/tex]

multiply through by 2

[tex]52 = (5+8)h[/tex]

[tex]52 = 13h[/tex]

divide through by 13

[tex]4 = h[/tex]

Therefore; height of the trapezoid = 4
