Respect for persons is the correct answer.

There are three principles of research ethics discussed in the Belmont Report: Respect for Persons, Beneficence, and Justice. The principle of respect for persons suggests that individuals should be treated as autonomous agents and the ones with diminished autonomy are entitled to protection since they cannot protect themselves. Thus, in this situation, we can see a violation of the Respect for Persons Principle.
