hope i understand it right how you wrote above this system 

  3x -4y = 9
-3x +2y = 9
------------------- assum the same terms 
  0   -2y = 18 

      y = 18/(-2) = -9

y = -9 

3x -4(-9) = 9
3x +36 = 9
3x = 9 -36
3x = -27

x = -27/3 = -9

x = -9
y = -9
