The first step would be to simplify the parenthesis so the equation will be solvable. For example: 2x+3y+2(x-y) -3x becomes 2x+3y+2x-2y-3x. So now we can solve the equation and get our answer. The rules of the distributive property state that you add the numbers with similar variables. Example( I am using the equation) 2x+2x-3x equals x, 3y-2y equals y. So the final answer is x+y!
